Kenyans are baffled by this arrogant claim by Jubilee that President Uhuru Kenyatta will rule for 10 years then pass the political power to Deputy President William Ruto who will rule until 3032 then probably return the favor to Uhuru’s son Jomo Kenyatta - who knows?
It is worth telling Jubilee and their supporters to tread cautiously in this power talk since even the old grand KANU, in their misplaced arrogance trumpeted by their then chief sycophant and party stalwart John Joseph (JJ) Kamotho who used to say that Kanu was going to rule for 100 years, was defeated.
It was soon after the Kamotho declaration about the then ruling party ruling for a century that they were vanguished at the ballot by then opposition National Rainbow Coalition (NARC) then led by opposition chief Raila Odinga who had engineered a major rebellion and subsequent walk out of Kanu by bigwigs including Kamotho himself.
In politics nothing is guaranteed. And Deputy President should Know better. Take this to the bank if you may. Ruto will never be Kenya’s president. The mount Kenya region won't support him. They are just hoodwinking him.
Politicians from Mount Kenya have told Ruto as much. The Kiambu governor told him that their support for him is not guaranteed. This was soon followed by Nakuru nominated senator Bernard Njoroge who echoed Kabogo’s position.
The duos position is the position of most politicians and residents of Central albeit covertly. Ruto should know that there is nothing like returning favor in politics. The president, after serving his term, will be a lame duck politician and he will drop Ruto like the plague and Ruto will fight his political battles alone.
Most candidates from Mount Kenya and their neighbouring cousins from Meru have announced that they will be going for the presidency in 2022. It is obvious they will receive Mount Kenya and other regions vote at the expense of the ever arrogant and temperamental Ruto whom Kenyans may, will, never elect as their CEO.
