The recent surge of corruption scandals should be a worry to all Kenyans in the country. The loss of billions of shillings that would have otherwise been used in uplifting the people's lives is worrying. The various sectors in the country that have been gripped with scandals are still not at their best level that the country can boast of.
Education, transport, industrialisation, health, among other sectors, are still languishing in deplorable conditions while money meant for their upgrade is siphoned to individuals' pockets.
However, instead of Kenyans speaking in one voice against the ill, they have involved tribalism to discriminate against themselves basing on tribe.
But look here. When money is swindled, the money finds itself on selected individuals' pockets and not a tribe. Kenyans should know that the money that should have been used in upgrading their lives is being swindled and shared among few top officials in the administration where there are no Kikuyus, Luos, Luhyas, Kalenjins or any other tribe. The money is divided among individuals equally and the common mwananchi is left to grapple with poverty and high costs of living.
Poor heath, education, transport and working conditions affect our lives while the corrupt individuals dine together with the money stolen from the people. At the moment, the Jubilee administration is facing various corruption scandals but they still get backing from people from their 'tribes' just because they are from 'their tribes'.
This should not be the case at all. This must stop.
Corruption has gripped the national government and down to the county governments and Kenyans should be united in the fight against it. They should pose queries to all leaders mentioned in any graft irrespective of his her tribal background. If tribal backings continue to be used in the fight against graft, then many leaders will rest assured that they will be protected by 'their people', especially when these people are not of a smaller number. They will continue looting and the main loser will be the common mwananchi who will continue getting sub-standard education, health, transportation, and industrialisation.
As 2017 fast approaches, all voters in the country should make the right decision of choosing leaders with integrity and who can be trusted with public resources. The tendency to vote according to where someone comes from should be a thing of the past.
