Ukambani needs someone who will give a vivid political direction as opposed to begging politics advocated by former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka.
The celebrated Kamba leader and a national political heavyweight dismissed senator Muthama’s call for a united Kamba community under Wiper party.
Kalonzo saw Muthama’s firebrand push for dissolution of briefcase parties as outdated confrontational politics. However, Musyoka should know that Kenyan democracy is not mature enough to adapt his begging approach to leadership.
Bending should be solely reserved for the voters because they are the final decision makers. Leaders must be bulldozed occasionally to realize communal as well as national objectives.
Musyoka should learn from his Cord presidential ticket competitor Raila Odinga and DP Ruto; the men giving Kenya’s political architect and retired President Moi sleepless nights. “We don’t want to hear some people standing on one leg and running around pretending to lead the community,” Muthama demanded.
“Mr Muthama, you are out of order. I am the party leader and I won’t allow anyone to bully other leaders in the name of campaigning for me. It is true we all want to be in one party but you can't do it by insulting or intimidating others. Let's plead with them to see sense why they should join us," Kalonzo said.
