Despite the fact that the duo are top Jubilee politicians, grass-root politics indicate that the two aides have a tough battle with former high ranking government officials, a fact that is giving them sleepless nights.

Duale's representation has been predicted to be under threat by Farah Maalim from the opposition coalition, who is swiftly gaining popularity in the constituency.

In Elgeyo Marakwet County, the former police IG David Kimayo has vowed to end Murkomen's political career in the forthcoming elections.

The race has been reported to be a two-horse with the odds steadily rising in favour of Kimaiyo. To counter the former IG's growing influence, Senator Murkomen has eventually opted to traverse the county, drumming support for himself so as to remain politically relevant even after the incoming poll exercise.

Political analysts hold the idea that Kimaiyo could attract a larger percentage of sympathy votes from the electorate owing to the fact that it is the Jubilee government that 'sacked' him from the security docket.
