The bank statement which has been making rounds on social media bears Jama’s three official names and shows that a total of Sh5 billion was allegedly sent to the governor’s bank account on different dates.

The Sh5 billion was allegedly wired from the Central Bank of Kenya to his personal account for private business. The eight-page bank statement bears a stamp on each page according to the Star.

Jama has been criticised severally of plundering the county coffers for personal gain.

The county chief, however, speaking at a dinner in aid of his re-election bid denied the claims linking them to his opponents and critiques.

He said his challengers have been running social media campaigns tarnishing his name with the aim of seeking public sympathy.

He said the Central Bank regulations cannot allow Sh640 million to be wired into a personal account at once.

“It is unfortunate these people can stoop so low. If they have an iota of evidence that they think they can use against me, then they should take the same to the relevant authority for action to be taken,” he said.

“Even if they cook lies and propaganda, then they should do it professionally.”
