[Photo/citizentv.co.ke]President Uhuru Kenyatta has fired a shot at the opposition for failing to effectively play its oversight role as contemplated by the Kenyan Constitution.In an article posted on the Washington Times website, Uhuru accused Raila Odinga of playing theatrics so as to hit international headlines.He said that the opposition had been very weak in his first term as they failed to scrutinise government programmes and offer constructive criticism.The president hailed the tremendous progress that Kenya had made in cultivating its democracy.''Instead of focusing on bread and butter issues, they have sought a new referendum on Kenya's constitution, a document they helped create.'' Uhuru wrote in the Washington Times.
