Speaking on Sunday in Nyamira County, Ruto further defended the Jubilee administration on corruption allegations by the opposition, noting that the government can account for all the monies allocated to it.

"During the period they (opposition leaders) served in government there was more corruption than what they claim is happening in Jubilee government now, and that is why they did not achieve much while in power," the Nation quoted him.

"They had been saying we have eaten money. But let me ask you. If we could have eaten money where could we be getting the funds we are using to develop this country?" he posed.

Ruto further urged the residents to enlist as voters in the ongoing mass voter registration exercise, observing that it is the only way the citizens can choose leaders who are development conscious.

He used the occasion to drum up support for the Jubilee Party and the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
