Ruiru MP Esther Gathongo has hit out at the opposition leaders accusing them of using propaganda to tarnish the Jubilee government's name.
She said the opposition has resorted to malicious propaganda, as it has nothing to talk about.
The MP said the frequent criticism of the government by the opposition is a strategy for it to gain political mileage ahead of the 2017 polls.
Gathongo said the opposition has no agenda for the country and wants to engage the Uhuru Kenyatta led government in malicious debates.
“As Jubilee politicians, we will stand and protect the President and his family from malicious propaganda being perpetuated by the opposition,” she said.
Addressing locals in Ruiru Town on Thursday, Gathongo said efforts by the opposition to tarnish Jubilee's name will not work.
She said Kenyans have expressed confidence in Uhuru's leadership, and are ready to re-elect him in 2017.
“The opposition has nothing to offer Kenyans and what they want is to discredit Uhuru’s leadership,” she said.
The MP urged the opposition to present their corruption queries to government agencies mandated to fight the vice.
Speaking on Friday during the Jubilee Party National Governing Council (NGC) meeting at the Bomas of Kenya in Nairobi, President Kenyatta hit out at the opposition saying it is misleading Kenyans on graft issues.
The President accused the opposition of using propaganda to gain political mileage ahead of 2017, adding that the government will not be intimidated by the opposition's efforts to discredit its development agenda.
