The team in-charge of NASA campaigns in Nairobi has unveiled a campaign strategy dubbed One-Million-Votes to cement the coalition's chances of retaining the county’s top job.
Led by Governor Evans Kidero himself, the team on Friday said they are already mobilising a million voters to accompany NASA flagbearer Raila Odinga and his runningmate Kalonzo Musyoka when they submit their nomination papers to IEBC on SUnday.
The official campaign period will start after the submission and verification exercise to be conducted at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) in Nairobi.
In the One-Million-Votes campaign are various aspirants including incumbents, and their task will be chiefly to transverse the county before holding a major rally at Jacaranda Grounds from 2pm.
Areas mapped for the procession are Starehe, Embakasi East, Makadara and Embakasi West.
“We are going to pull all stops and leave nothing to chance, to ensure our message reaches every voter in the county to enable Nairobi vote for us and the NASA team,” said Kidero
“As your servant leaders here in Nairobi County, we look forward to hosting this event and eventually, the swearing in ceremony of Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka as our President and his Deputy,” added Kidero.
He further said: “We are expecting one million Kenyans from across the country on Sunday. I would like to assure everybody that we have made adequate security arrangements.”
Kidero will be battling with Jubilee's nominee Mike Sonko as well as independent candidates Miguna Miguna and Peter Kenneth who recently ditched Jubilee citing 'shambolic' primaries.
