He cautioned the country against falling for the opposition propaganda that the Government has not fulfilled the pledges it gave to the people.

The President cited various projects undertaken by the Government in Kajiado in the past three and half years, saying no other government has ‘’done what Jubilee has done for the Maasai’’.

“Jubilee government has done a lot in Kajiado from technical training institutes, water projects, roads and electricity connection,” said the President.

He said more than 60,000 households have been connected to electricity in Kajiado, and that some roads are under construction and others will be launched soon. The President cited the construction of Isinya-Mashuru and Ngong-Kiserian roads.

He said it is unfortunate that the opposition spreads lies, yet its leaders have nothing to show for the many decades they have been in government.

“Musalia Mudavadi joined Government as a Cabinet minister when I was still in school. He was plucked from school and appointed a minister, and to date he cannot show what he did for Kenyans,” the President pointed out.

“Kalonzo Musyoka has been in government for long yet he cannot point at any project he ever initiated. Raila Odinga, who had half the government as Prime Minister, did nothing for the people of Kenya,’’ President Kenyatta said.

He termed as unfortunate propaganda spread in Kajiado over land, saying the Siaya Senator James Orengo, who was the Lands minister under Raila, did not deal with the issues facing Kajiado.

“They say Jubilee government is grabbing land in Kajiado. Let one person show any land taken over by the Government. In fact, when Orengo was Lands minister, he unprocedurally allocated land in Lamu. It is the Jubilee Government which cancelled the title deeds and gave back the land to the people of Lamu,’’ the Head of State said.

The President urged Kajiado leaders to lead wananchi in recruiting Jubilee members and in the registration of voters that began today.

He called on Jubilee aspirants to work together and support whoever wins the nominations.

Water Cabinet Secretary Eugen Wamalwa outlined water projects the Government is building in Kajiado. He said the Sh1.2 billion Loitokitok water project will be launched soon.

Other projects include the Sh1.3 billion phase two Kiserian Dam water project, Sh3 billion Mavoko water distribution project and Sh700 million Kitengela sewerage project.

Also in the pipeline is the Sh1.2 billion 50 boreholes in rural Kajiado, 14 of which have been completed.

The leaders assured the President of their commitment to ensure Jubilee wins all political seats in the county. Leaders who spoke were Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery, MPs Katoo ole Metito (Kajiado South), Moses Ole Sakuda (Kajiado West), Joseph Manje (Kajiado North) and Peris Tobiko (Kajiado East).

Others were Janet Teyiaa (nominated) and Mary Senata (Women Rep).
