A group of Siaya County leaders have refuted claims made by Attorney General Githu Muigai that President Uhuru Kenyatta still has executive powers.
AG Muigai claimed that there would be no constitutional crisis in Kenya should the elections fail to be within 60 days as ordered by the Supreme Court.
According to Muigai, President Uhuru Kenyatta would still hold his seat in office and carry out full executive powers until a new president is sworn in.
Former Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo disputed these claims on the basis that President Kenyatta is illegal holding the position since his five year term ended on August 8 of this year.
Alego/Usonga MP Samuel Atandi echoed his statements and called upon NASA supporters to be ready to swear in Raila Odinga if the country to does not conduct a fresh presidential election.
Atandi is confident that Raila won in the August 8 presidential election and that Kenya should brace itself for two presidents should Uhuru refuse to leave office.
