Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri has dared his CORD counterparts to introduce the impeachment motion against President Uhuru Kenyatta in parliament.

He added that leaders should respect the presidency since it is a symbol of unity in the country.

Speaking to journalists after the county’s inaugural Prayer Breakfast meeting held in the county on Friday morning, Ngunjiri said, "The president should be given the respect he deserve. I urge the Cord leaders to withdraw the motion to impeach Uhuru Kenyatta from the house."

He added, "Most of the Cord leaders are also involved in an number of corrupt dealings, so why are they quick to impeach the president yet they themselves are not clean?"

The Bahati legislator also added that when the president took office, the country was still reeling from the 2007/2008 post-election violence effects and thus should be given ample time to serve the public.

He also asked all political leaders to exercise restraint and tolerance despite their divergent views concerning the county’s leadership.
