Four opposition leaders have signed a letter of intent to form the National Super Alliance (NASA).
ODM’s Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper), Moses Wetangula (Ford Kenya) and Musalia Mudavadi of ANC appended their signatures on the document after agreeing on how the new alliance, to tackle Jubilee Party, will be guided.
Two days ago, the opposition chiefs named a 12-member team which will now draft a coalition agreement, power sharing formula and will come up with NASA's presidential candidate and running mate ahead of August 8 polls.
The members of the National Coordinating Committee are: Senators Boni Khalwale (Kakamega), James Orengo (Siaya), Johnston Muthama (Machakos) and Agnes Zani (Nominated); MPs Eseli Simiyu, Sakwa Bunyasi, Francis Nyenze, Chris Wamalwa, Timothy Bosire; and Farah Maalim and Kipruto Kirwa.
“The process of converting NASA into a legal entity has begun. An official statement will be made by the four principals in good time regarding CORD and parties that encompass NASA,” said Senator Khalwale as quoted by the Standard.
While addressing the press, the NASA leaders also said they will hold their first major rally in Bomet County this Saturday.
They will be hosted by outspoken area Governor Isaac Ruto, who has on several occasions criticised the Jubilee administration on matters devolution and corruption.
