Siaya Senator James Orengo said the meeting will enable opposition leaders bond and share ideas on how best to challenge President Uhuru's presidency.

It is not clear whether ODM party leader Raila Odinga will attend the meeting since he is still in Accra Ghana after he attended the inauguration of Ghana's President Nana Akufo-Addo on Saturday.

Prominent parties expected to send representatives to the meeting include ODM, Wiper, Ford Kenya and Amani National Congress.

By the time of the publication this story, it was not clear whether Gideon Moi's Kanu and Isaac Ruto's Chama Cha Mashinani will send members.

The two parties have indicated plans to work with the opposition after breaking ranks with Jubilee.

"After the meeting, we will be working together and we will be sharing ideas on how to strengthen the opposition as we prepare for August," Orengo said while addressing the press on Monday.
