A member of Machakos County Assembly, who has been opposing Governor Alfred Mutua has changed her mind and opted to support the county’s leadership.
This came as a sigh of relief for residents and the governor after the MCA declared her full support to Mutua’s government.
Speaking during bursary allocation event on Monday in Matungulu West Ward, the area nominated MCA, Magdalene Ndawa, assured the residents that she would support the governor’s leadership so as to spur development.
“I saw it necessary that I should support our government in a bid to continue development activities stirred by our governor. From today I will hold up the progressive projects by our governor,” said Ndawa.
Ndawa called upon all Machakos County leaders to put their political differences aside and instead speak in one accord in a bid to unite the region.
“I urge all leaders including MCAs and MPs to put aside their political differences and unite so as to work together towards the goodness of improving the county,” she said.
Ndawa’s move triggers a lot of mixed reactions with congratulatory messages from governor Mutuas’ supporters.
However the opposition side, which is spearheaded by the deputy governor, Bernard Kiala, remains weaker as the number has reduced to 18 only.
