Leaders drawn from the opposition block,National Super Alliance(NASA) have rubbished the national 2017/2018 budget presented on Thursday
March 30,by National Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich.
They have termed it as political saying that it is not designed to the benefit of Kenyans.
Addressing members of the Press at the parliament buildings immediately after the announcement,Dagoretti North lawmaker Simba Arati said that the budget is among the worst in Kenyan history.
''This is one of the worst budgets Kenya has ever had.It is not designed to favor the exchequer but is rather a campaign tactic,'' he said.
Similar comments came from his Suba counterpart John Mbadi who said that the government is using the budget for Public Relation purposes rather than allocate more funds to save the growing number of Kenyans affected by drought.
''We expected the government to come up with measures to rescue Kenyans dying of hunger but that was is the case,'' said the Orange Party national Chairman.
CS Rotich said that 2.6 Trillion will be funded by taxes and loans.
