Uhuru assured that he will work tirelessly to ensure the development momentum the country has attained is not slowed down by the rhetoric and divisive politics of the opposition, noting that the Jubilee Government has implemented development projects in all parts of the country.

“Our main focus is to make Kenya a better place than we found it,” said Uhuru on Sunday.

President Kenyatta was speaking at PCEA Kimunyu Church where he presided over the ground-breaking ceremony of the proposed Thiririka Presbytery office complex in Kiambu county.

The ground-breaking ceremony was followed by a church service that was conducted by the PCEA General Assembly Moderator Rt Rev. Julius Mwamba.

The President urged Kenyans not to be anxious about next year’s election but instead asked those who have not registered as voters to do so in order to exercise their democratic right when the time comes.

Other speakers included Kiambu Governor William Kabogo, Senator Kimani Wamatangi and Members of Parliament Moses Kuria (Gatundu South), Njoroge Baiya (Githunguri), Ferdinand Waititu (Kabete), Kiambu Woman Rep Annah Nyokabi and Alice Ng’ang’a of Thika Town who told off the opposition over their interference with the IEBC.

Ng’ang’a said IEBC is an independent institution and nobody has a right to dictate to it how it should run its operations.

Earlier, The President and First Lady Margaret Kenyatta attended a family thanksgiving service at St Gabriel Mutomo Catholic in Gatundu.

The service was conducted by St Gabriel Catholic Parish Priest, Father Samuel Mukua Wanyoike.

Speaking at the service, Uhuru extolled family values, noting that they were the foundation of a successful nation.

The President also thanked Kenyans for praying for him and the country, saying their prayers helped him overcome the International Criminal Court (ICC) case.
