James Orengo says Jubilee administration might have hijacked the recent chaotic rally at Migori in which thousands of opposition supporters clashed among them leaving scored injured.
Organized by Suna East MP Junet Mohammed, the rally was aborted after supporters of the area governor Okoth Obado clashed with those of his opponent Ochilo Ayacko.
But Orengo, who was also rescued from irate mob, says the prime target of the fracas was ODM Deputy Leader and Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho.
“Yes there was local politics being played but that should not warrant aiming at Joho’s guards,” said Orengo, who is also representing the embattled governor on forgery claims in court.
The Siaya senator added: “Joho was prime target and Jubilee was behind all these. It is difficult to convince me why his vehicle was sprayed with bullets.”
Moments after the chaotic scenes, Joho tasked investigative agents to give answers concerning shooting of his security guard and accused plain cloth police for being after his life.
Being a fierce ODM defender, Joho has been at loggerheads with Jubilee administration, a move that has had his security details withdrawn in as many occasions.
