Siaya Senator, James Orengo, has singled out the United States and the United Kingdom diplomats for condemnation.

In a strongly worded press briefing earlier today, the renowned lawyer breathed fire over what he called assurances from the diplomats that did not work.

According to Senator Orengo, the diplomats had assured NASA that they would ensure that protests called by the opposition without any interference from the state but failed to deliver on those assurances.

‘’While these diplomats were meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta, the police were brutalising peaceful Kenyans who’d turned up to demonstrate... We had assurances from the diplomats that there would be no interference. I want to tell those diplomats that we have been here before when diplomats ran away from us’’ Orengo said.

He evoked memories of the 1994 Rwandan Genocide where diplomats failed to speak up clearly and strongly against brutality meted out to Tutsis.

The veteran lawyer expressed defiance, saying that protests and rallies against the repeat presidential poll will not stop.

‘’We will not stop demonstrating. Demonstrating is our right. We will not tire.’’ He said.
