Despite being a staunch Anglican, Senate Minority Leader James Orengo has said he's not sure of going to heaven.

In an a powerful tribute at Kenneth Matiba's funeral,  Orengo further said many of political elites may not make it either. 

"I am not a prophet or a seer but if at all there is a politician I know will go to heaven,  then Kenneth Matiba is one of them.

"Many politicians including myself may not make it. I am not even sure of myself," he said.

The Siaya senator also caused a stir when he asked those who purpotedly tortured Matiba to apologise or face the law. 

At the funeral,  Orengo was one of the few politicians who was hailed for fighting for pluralism along with the democracy icon.
