Last week, a meeting chaired by Raila Odinga resolved for a retreat in which senators are expected to chat the future of Wetangula.

"He has had an opportunity to interact with his fellow senators and we have agreed they hold a retreat and solve the matter," said Raila.

At several stop overs in Western Kenya on Saturday, Wetangula vowed to fight back, adding that he would ensure the unity pact between Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta is 'uncomfortable.

Even more worrying, his replacement, James Orengo, at a funeral in Siaya on Saturday, ruled out possibility of relinquishing the seat.

"Can I take this position or not?" Orengo asked an enthusiastic crowd, who response was a usual suspect.

He further said: "The people have said and I have no plans of letting them down. I will offer credible leadership."

During the event, Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo also supported the ouster, insisting that it was long overdue.
