NASA lawyer James Orengo and former Machakos senator Johnson Muthama have been urged to apologize and stop incitement as they recently said that the opposition will swear in Raila as soon as Uhuru Kenyatta is sworn in.

According to church leaders drawn from Kisii County their remarks are meant to stir conflict and brew more political tension that may lead to a civil war.

Led by Kisii Diocese Rt. Rev. Joseph Mairura,  the church leaders said it’s high time leaders from both political divides come together to build Kenya and unite all.

"We as church leaders are so much in pain with the ongoing political tension and our hearts broke more when Senior counsel Orengo and Muthama said they will swear in Raila when they know very well that can lead to unending civil war" said Mairura

The leaders however called upon President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga to ensure that they dialogue to end the current political stalemate.

Their remarks come barely a day after the duo, Orengo and Muthama, claimed that they are ready to swear in Raila as the next president once Uhuru is sworn in too.
