At a funeral to former minister Oloo Aringo's son in Alego-Usonga, the Rarieda MP collapsed before reading his eulogy, forcing his aides to rush him to Bondo Medical Center and subsequently to Aga Khan Hospital.

But the Senate Minority Leader said the first term ODM MP is improving, remarks which were backed by his wife Linet Amollo.

"He had suffered from exhaustion and doctors have restored him. His health has substantially improved," said Orengo.

He added: "We are hopeful that he will be discharged soonest. We are informed that he has been having a tedious programme for the last two weeks."

On his Twitter account, Amollo has been posting photos of him working at villages in an operation dubbed as 'Ondoa Nyasi' which targets impoverished widows.

Besides Orengo, Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa is among those who visited Otiende at Aga Khan hospital.
