Siaya Senator James Orengo has regretted taking part in the Kisumu gubernatorial seat election petition.
In his statement, he mentioned that the case was a waste of time since it did not give him the challenge he was expecting.
Mr Orengo noted that he had dealt with bigger cases in the past and he was hoping fro a challenging case from the ex-governor Jack Ranguma but unfortunately he did not get any.
"I did not know that Ranguma's case against Nyong'o was child play. I wasted my time on the case," Orengo was quoted by the Nairobian.
The senior counsel was the lead counsel for Governor Anyang Nyong'o in a petition filed by Raguma challenging his election as the new Kisumu county boss.
Kisumu High Court Judge David Majanja meanwhile ordered the former county governor to pay Professor Nyong'o and other parties involved in the petition Sh5 Million.
The Judge made the directive after dismissing the petition challenging Mr Nyong'o victory in the last year's polls.
During his ruling he stated that Mr Ranguma failed to give enough evidence to support his claims and he therefore went ahead to describe the allegations as vague and also embarrassing and founded on malice and propaganda stating that there was no proof of any interference with the electoral process.
"The allegations made by the petitioner are vague and embarrassing. Such vagueness is not cured by stating in the petition that the grounds, information and evidence are detailed in the supporting affidavits," Justice Majanja noted.
