The former vice president, Stephen Kalonzo, on Tuesday criticised Siaya Senator Jimmy Orengo of wanting to collapse Nasa coalition.
The wiper leader was reacting to the move by ODM to ouster Ford-Kenya party leader as majority leader in the Senate.
Speaking during a press conference, Mr. Kalonzo asked Orengo to decline his nomination as the new Senate minority leader.
"We do not have to get to that, I want to call on my friend Jimmy Orengo because he knows his importance to this decision. I do not want my friend Jimmy Orengo to be the one to go down in history as the one who collapsed Nasa. That he should, this is my appeal to him, he should decline this nomination," requested Mr. Kalonzo.
However, in a rejoinder the Siaya senator made during an interview on Citizen television on Tuesday night, Orengo referred to Kalonzo's statement as normal and instead asked the coalition to sit down and solve their differences.
"I think that is a little bit of a normal statement. There are many examples in history today if he recalls. We should think deeply enough, in Ethiopia the prime minister resigned, there is a party there, it did not collapse. I think the coalition should sit down and find these false lines and we can move forward," advised Orengo.
