Siaya Senator James Orengo says should ODM leader Raila Odinga be elected president in the August elections, his first priority will be to fight corruption.
Corruption, which Orengo said has thrived enormously under the Jubilee regime, will be a thing of past under Raila's presidency.
"The first priority for Raila, should he assume office, will be to ensure that those swindling public funds are traced and made to face the law," Orengo said as quoted by the Nation.
Speaking during a function in Bondo over the weekend, Orengo accused President Uhuru and his deputy William Ruto of failing o fight corruption.
"The President has failed to punish those involved in corruption scandals. This is the reason the vice has risen to unmanageable levels. Maybe he benefits from those dealings," he said.
The Senator said the failure by President Uhuru to fight graft should be more reason why Kenyans should not re-elect him during the August 8, general election.
He asked residents to register in large numbers during the ongoing mass voter registration to ensure they will have votes to take the former Prime Minister to State House.
