With the implementation of the contents of the famous handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leader Raila Odinga gaining momentum, Siaya Senator James Orengo is now making a special appeal to the President.
Speaking on Sunday in Gem, Orengo challenged Uhuru and his Jubilee party to concentrate on implementing the deal he made with Raila.
The Senior Counsel challenged the Head of State to ask his party members to stop early campaigns ahead of the 2022 elections.
"I am giving a challenge to Jubilee that as Raila and his team are concentrating about bringing changes that will make Kenya a better place, they must also stop campaigning.,"the Senate Minority leader said on Sunday during a fundraiser in his Siaya County.
"The time has not come for campaigning. In fact Uhuru Kenyatta should advice his deputy Ruto that this is not the time for campaign. This is the time for the wise men like Raila Amollo Odinga to sit down and determine how Kenya will move forward," he added.
Orengo who had earlier expressed some misgivings with the handshake seems to have made a u-turn,possibly after meeting the former Prime Minister.
