Parliament has today resumed their sittings after a month-long recess to a full in-tray.

Top of the agenda is the constitution of house committees, which the opposition is yet to provide a list of their members.

The House was initially scheduled to resume on November 7, but the calendar could not be observed as earlier planned.

The sitting will, however, be a short one, with the members expected to break for another long recess of 10 weeks until February 12, 2018.

The opposition is said to have come up with a list of its members in the house.

So far, the opposition has only filled two positions, that of The Minority in the Senate, a position held by Moses Wetangula and with John Mbaddi heading the minority leader in Parliament.

In the Senate, James Orengo will deputize Moses Wetangula, Mutula Kilonzo Junior will the minority whip in the Senate and will be deputized by Petronilla Were.

In parliament, John Mbadi will be deputized by Robert Mbui. Minority Whip will be Junet Mohamed and will be deputized by Chris Wamalwa.

The House committee members will be finalized by tomorrow, Thursday, as the house puts committees in place to ensure government business runs.
