On Friday, the vocal Siaya senator said that the meeting between Uhuru and Raila, last week, was for the interest of Kenyans and not individual politicians.

Speaking to journalists at the Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi court where he represented activist Okiya Omatatah in court, Orengo said that Kenyans will benefit from the Uhuru-Raila truce.

The Siaya senator hit out at politicians attacking the former Prime Minister for agreeing to work with Jubilee.

‘‘Kenyans should not listen to ‘busy bodies’ and rather support the the found re-union between President Kenyatta and Honarable Raila Odinga,’’ he said.

The Siaya senator observed that Uhuru-Raila re-union is a big boost to the push for electoral reforms in the county.

‘‘I think our colleagues raising  murmurs  on the last week between  Uhuru and Raila should see the big picture of the meeting and stop making noise that could derail the push for electoral reforms and justice,’’ he added.

Orengo maintained that Raila made the best decision by agreeing to dialogue with the Jubilee government.

The ODM senator, however,  rubbished claims that ODM has joined Jubilee and that it should relinquish its parliamentary  seats.

Orengo said that the Orange party remains independent wand will with Uhuru Kenyatta on key issues touching on national unity.

President Kenyatta met with Raila last week where they agreed to push for national unity.

Their meeting  continues to elicit reactions with a section of politicians allied to Kalonzo, Mudavadi and Wetangula crying foul for being kept in the dark.

The politicians are now demanding ODM to relinquish its parliamentary  seats since the party has allegedly joined Jubilee.

On Monday, during the NASA summit meeting in Athi River, the principals agreed to wider and inclusive national dialogue.

On Wednesday, Kalonzo announced that he alongside Mudavadi and Wetangula are seeking a separate meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta  once he gets back to the country from Cuba where he is on official duty.
