Last month, Wetangula was kicked out of office, with senators accusing him of arrogance among other misdeeds, even though he maintains his innocence.

"The meeting on my ouster was plotted by Raila and no one else. I am not bitter because I have since moved on," he said.

In a rebuttal, Orengo has dismissed the claims, insisting that due process was adhered to contrary to Wetangula's claims.

In a letter, he said: "His removal was as a result of unanimous decision by NASA senators in strict compliance of the law and Standing Orders of the senate."

The Siaya senator further said: "In the NASA coalition agreement, there was no provision or condition that awarded a specific position in parliament  to a particular individual."

So messy has been the NASA split that even Wetangula has bowed out despite promising to fight back.

On Tuesday, Raila, through his spokesperson Dennis Onyango, also refuted claims that he had organised a meeting to orchestrate for Wetangula's removal.
