Orengo on Saturday said they will go ahead with their plans and that the Opposition will not be derailed by the directive.
“We want to tell the CS that he should stop issuing directives which he cannot back constitutionally. Police should also desist from being used to harass and intimidate citizens,” he said.
The Senator remained adamant that they will go ahead and deploy monitors at every polling station to safeguard their presidential votes.
This was after Matiang'i said that it is only presiding officers, their deputies, polling clerks and accredited party agents that will be allowed at the polling stations on August 8.
But Orengo said it is IEBC's duty to comment on such election matters and not members of the executive.
“We are aware of the scheme to militarise the country majorly in Nasa zones to deny them opportunity to exercise their democratic rights,” Orengo said.
