With Julius Malema's speech at Winnie Mandela's funeral dominating social media since Saturday, the young revolutionary may have done what James Orengo did many years ago.
During the funeral held at Orlando Stadium on Saturday, the former ANC leader launched scathing attacks in leaders he accused of betraying Ms Mandela when she needed them most.
But in 1994, Senate Minority Leader James Orengo, then Ugenya MP, took a bull by its horn by pointing an accusing finger at President Daniel Moi, during Jaramogi Oginga Odinga funeral.
Before his death, Jaramogi had been subjected to detentions and torture by Moi, a reason why Orengo was irked by the president's presence in the funeral.
"Woe unto you hypocrites. Yes, I say woe unto you hypocrites, who tortured and detained this great man and now come here in false praise of his greatness.
"inwardly they mourn not. Hypocrites are forever the swine of human civilisation. Woe unto them," said the veteran politician.
Before the funeral, Moi had reportedly instructed the police to barricade Orengo's motorcade and subsequently ban him from attending the funeral.
For an entire week, Daily Nation recalled latter on, Orengo's speech most borrowed from Julio Ceaser's episode by William Shakespeare, dominated front pages of Kenyan press.
