The organisations, Kibera Professional Association, Slum Environmental Foundation and Toi Traders Association have taken the initiative of cleaning up all trading centres and other institutions within the constituency.

According to the CEO of the Kibera Professional Association, Stanley Ongalo, this move aims at changing the culture of littering and sensitises people on the importance of keeping their surroundings clean. He said the program is also targeting learning institutions and churches to ensure that people live in an environment that is free from diseases. He challenged the county government of Nairobi to prioritise matters of health and environment to ensure that Kibera people have healthy lives.

“We all want a clean environment and we as a community we need to hold hands to ensure that we are healthy and clean” he said.
