Western Kenya Peace Partners Stakeholders Forum met in Kisumu on Monday and announced their togetherness to drive the peace agenda.

The chairman of the forum, Samuel Omondi who read the resolution said partnerships among different stakeholders will help them identify opportunities and obstacles in forging collaboration.

Omondi called on politicians to desist from funding youths to cause chaos in political meetings.

“This is an appeal to our politicians to stop misusing the youth to cause chaos," he said.

"We want a free election devoid of violence but this will only happen if there is cooperation between politicians."

He said they will not condone hate speech among leaders that can ignite chaos.

Omondi called on institutions to advance peace and security in the region.

Governor Jack Ranguma who was present said it is the duty of everyone to promote peace.

Ranguma said Nyanza people must be peaceful and should coexist with neighbouring communities.

He pledged to work closely with the organisations to ensure lasting peace is found in the troubled borders in the county.

“This is my pledge that I will work with the church and peace organisations to ensure there are no chaos in Kisumu as we head to elections,” he said.
