National fund for the disabled of Kenya treasurer Anthony Muli addressing the press in Eldoret town on Sunday, November 26, 2017. [Photo: Elvanis Ronoh]Private and public organisations have been urged to come out and help people with disabilities.National Fund for the Disabled of Kenya Treasurer Anthony Muli said many disabled people are living pathetic lives, therefore, there is need to help them."We have 10 million people with disability in the country and only less than 10 percent are empowered financially," he said in Eldoret town, Sunday."I urge private and public organisations to come on board and help them with equipment’s that can help them improve their livelihoods since disability is not inability," he added.He reiterated that as an organisation they have set aside Sh200 million to empower people with disability financially. "With the funds, we can only help 2.5 million people living with a disability only, therefore, the need for other organisations to come and assist where possible,” noted Muli.He, however, warned parents who are still hiding children with disability that they will be arrested and charged.
