An orphan’s dream to acquire secondary school education is being hampered by lack of school fees.
Edward Magero scored a total of 353 marks in 2017 KCPE, emerging a top candidate at Loldia primary school in Naivasha.
He has secured an admission at Kiambu High school where he is supposed to report by January 3, 2018.
His guardian Olpha Nyatichi said she is unable to raise the school fees.
“I don’t have a job to enable me provide school fees for the boy to join secondary. I am appealing to well wishers to help sponsor the child to join secondary to achieve his dream,” pleaded Nyatichi.
According to her, Education Cs Fred Matiang’I should order schools accept students from poor families to join schools for free.
“Matiang’I has transformed the education sector. Let him intervene and help those children from poor families willing to join secondary to be admitted and get government sponsorship to complete school,” she said.
