Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has been summoned by a Nairobi court to explain his failure to appear in court.

The summons came after Sudi allegedly intentionally failed to attend a hearing of a case in which he is accused of faking his academic papers and giving IEBC wrong information.

The legislator was ordered to appear at the Milimani's Anti-Corruption Court, April 24, 2017 by Justice Felix Kombo after the prosecution requested so.

"There is no sufficient grounds to waiver the accused person’s presence in court as he has deliberately failed to appear as required," he said.

"His absence is dubious. If he skips court as summoned, I will have no option but to order his arrest," said the judge.

Lawyer Thomas Ruto who represented the Kapseret lawmaker told the court his client skipped the hearing since he was busy campaigning for Jubilee nominations.

He requested the court to allow the hearing take place after he is through with the campaigns.
