The farm, which is the largest in Naivasha, has been feted for the developments that support Sainbury’s 20-by-20 sustainability targets.

Oserian was recognized in Naivasha on Thursday for its efforts in water conservation measures which include the use of hydroponics, construction of wetlands and detailed water usage by crops.

Sainbury’s East Africa project manager John Owles said that the award was based on quality and environmental conservation.

“This award shows Sainbury’s is serious about quality and aims to forge close relationships with the supermarket suppliers in Africa,” Owles said.

Owles added that Sainbury’s supermarket was going to work with all the flower farms in Kenya to ensure that conservation of the environment is achieved.
