A dark cloud is still hanging over the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on the chicken gate scandal.
This comes a day after the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) recommended the prosecution of former IEBC CEO James Oswago and three others for alleged involvement in the chicken gate scandal.
Oswago claimed that he is being singled out as a scapegoat to protect people who were really involved.
"There must be a reason why EACC is acting expeditiously now, it's either they are desperately trying to shield some individual within or outside itself or trying to divert public attention from some other matter," said Oswago.
" I refuse to be used as a scapegoat, I refuse to be used as the wrath," he added.
The former IEBC CEO also questioned the manner in which EACC conducted its investigation sighting that he was denied the right to a fair hearing as required by law. He further revealed that the commission still does not have a complete statement from him regarding the chicken gate scandal.
"I have never been asked to go and complete the statement I was making, and where a statement must be made any accused person must be given an opportunity to complete it," said Oswago.
Oswago said the investigation are misleading Kenyans and maintains due process must be followed.
"People of this country must be on guard against public institutions who want to use individuals as a way of hoodwinking the public," said Oswago.
