A company linked to the supplier of Kenya Intergrated Electral Management System (KIEMS), OT -Morpho in 2017 Kenyan polls is among four European bank note companies that made a bid to print Kenya's new look currency in the lucrative tender.According to Business daily, Oberthur Fiduciare (the OT Morpho linked firm) is facing De La Rue international with three others after the court nullified on Monday the sh10-billion-a-year tender awarded to the British firm (De la Rue).The petition was filed by Swedish firm Crane AB, before procurement agency and is in contention for the tender with German firm Giesecke & Devrient.The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) was ordered by The Public Procurement Administrative Review Board (PPARB) to make fresh evaluation of the tenders submitted to it within 14 days.CBK was accused of giving De La Rue a 15 per cent margin preference for having local shareholding.OT - Morpho rebranded in May 2017 to IDEMIA after a merger of Oberthur Technologies (OT) and Safran Identity & Security (Morpho).Other IEBC Server tender, Francois-Charles Oberthur Fiduciaire has also been engaged in a controversial multi-billion shilling contract for the supply of electronic passports that occurred 10 years ago prior to the merger.
