Kisii Women representative Mrs Mary Otara has said that they will back Raila Odinga for the top seat as he is the preferred candidate of the coalition.
Speaking in a burial at Suneka on Tuesday, Otara said the recent utterance by Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetang'ula that Raila should step down for him is not acceptable and on their side, they are not ready to support him.
“We know that our party ODM has the majority share in Cord and Wetangula’s party has the least and I would like to tell him that his time will come but for now we are looking into supporting Raila for the top seat,” she added.
Otara said they are the one who brought Wetangula on board and they don’t expect him to oppose Raila who is probably Running for the last time.
“Wetangula should wait in 2022 as we will ensure that he gets our support but for now, let’s try our party leader Raila,” she added.
The legislator called upon all the leaders from the region to ensure that they hold hands to ensure that they popularise the party in the regions so that they can get better slots in the upcoming government.
