Rarieda Mp Otiende Amollo has reacted to the news that lawyer Miguna Miguna has been deported to Canada.

Taking to his Twitter handle on Wednesday, Otiende urged Kenyans not to celebrate the woes Miguna is facing and rather shift focus to Courts and the rule of law.

The  legislator believes that the move, if left to stand, is going to cause lack of respect to lawyers, Courts and the Judiciary as a whole will cease to be effective.

"For those short-sighted to celebrate Miguna’s Woes, Know this is beyond Miguna. It’s about respecting Courts & the Law. If this flies, Lawyers, Courts & Judiciary as Whole will cease relevance & effect # the end of the Judicial Arm," tweeted Otiende.

Otiende further chastised the government for disrespecting Article 16 of the Constitution which talks about dual citizenship.

According to the Mp, Miguna does not lose his Kenyan Citizenship as he was born in the country.

"Someone forgot to remind the Lords of Impunity Of Article 16 Of the Constitution; you cannot strip a Citizen by Birth of Citizenship! Thank God for our foresight of these times!!" added Otiende.

Miguna was arrested on Friday and he has been in police custody since then. Attempts to produce him in Court also failed leading to numerous Court orders being given to Inspector General of police Joseph Boinnet and DCI George Kinoti.

On Tuesday,  lawyerNelson Havi tweeted that reliable information indicated that Miguna had been deported to Canada as he (Miguna) holds a dual Citizenship of Kenya and Canada.
