Siaya County's Rarieda MP, Otiende Amollo has slammed the County Assembly after MCAs failed to approve the list of CeC nominees by Governor Cornel Rasanga.
"Siaya County is the only county in the whole republic that has no full government in place, it's the only county with no county ministers," said the lawmaker.
The ODM MP urged the county lawmakers of Siaya to pass the list of those nominated to be members of the county executive committee "so that Siaya County can have a fully functional government."
He made the remarks when different leaders across Siaya County joined the family of former Alego MP Paul Oloo Aringo to pay their last respect to his late son Tom Gemma Aringo, who succumbed to cancer.
Speaking at the function the leaders urged Kenyans to embrace the handshake that was recently witnessed between the former PM Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta, saying it was the bridge to development and national co-existence.
On his part, the Lake Region Economic Bloc CEO Abala Wanga urged MCAs to support the bloc by passing the bills that will be brought to them.
He asked the lawmakers to support Governor Rasanga in anticipation of the Regional Education Symposium that Siaya is set to host in August for the whole regional bloc comprising of fourteen counties.
Senate Minority Leader Senator (Siaya) James Orengo, Rasanga, Alego MP Samwel Atandi, EALA MP Oburu Odinga, Ugunja MP Opiyo Wandayi and Sammy Weya were also in attendance.
