The Rarieda MP wrestled with the vexed question of what happens given that Miguna did not board the Emirates plane.

''Given that Miguna did not board that Emirates plane, the question is what happens? They may try to hold him and then bundle him onto another plane. Or they will produce him in a Kenyan court? In that case, we will have to go to court and ask for a habeas corpus forcing authorities to produce him in court,'' Otiende said.

The Rarieda legislator spoke on a live television programme in a panel discussion today.

He called the roughing up of Miguna and journalists an act of total impunity.

''This is an act of impunity and unconstitutional,'' Otiende said.

Miguna's dramatic arrival in the country continues to grip the country, hours after he arrived.
