Otuoma resigned from the party after he claimed that he was rigged out of the Busia gubernatorial race by incumbent Sospeter Ojaamong.
Otuoma will now vie for the seat as an independent candidate after declining to take part in the repeat nomination for theBusia gubernatorial race.
The former sports minster cited that he was the clear of the polls and ODM should have given him the certificate.
On Friday, Otuoma asked party secretary general Agnes Zani to remove his name from the party register.
“I am a life member number 000032, having been issued with a life membership certificate. I would wish to resign and withdraw from the party with immediate effect.” Otuoma’s letter to Zani reads in part.
Two days earlier,Otuoma had hinted that he might vie as an independent candidate.
