Funyula Member of Parliament Paul Otuoma has expressed disappointment following the delay to announce the gubernatorial primary results in Busia county.
Speaking in Friday morning, Otuoma accused the returning officer of manipulating the results in order to announce governor Sospeter Ojaamong’ as the winner.
“Now he has manipulated figures to say he has produced 60,000 people and he has only received figures on the phone and he says he wants to announce and then we go and complain,” Otuoma said.
“Why are we being subjected to all this nonsense?” he asked.
“The will of the people of Busia must be respected,” he added.
According to Ojamoong’s camp, the governor has 105,000 votes against his opponent's 55, 000.
Otuama’s camp claims he has over 70,000 votes while his political rival Ojaamong’ has 39,000.
