Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong has been declared the winner of ODM primaries with 92,358 votes against Funyula MP Paul Otuoma’s 63, 752.

Otuoma has, however, rejected the results, saying they were doctored.

“The Busia ODM nominations have been doctored and are unrealistic. The voice of the people of Busia must be respected and heard,” the MP said on Friday morning.

He added, "People who voted in Teso South are more than the number registered with IEBC."

Otuoma said he won the nominations.

Ojaamong will fly the ODM flag in the August 8 polls.

The Busia nomination results were as follows:

Teso South - Otuoma 1,359, Ojaamong 44,369.

Teso North - Otuoma 3,303, Ojaamong 33,349.

In Nambale, Otuoma got 2,807 while Ojaamong garnered 597. In Butula, Ojaamong got 3,750 while Otuoma got 19,144.

Otuoma’s supporters had demanded that he be declared the winner in the nominations.
