Busia county gubernatorial aspirant and Funyula Member of Parliament Paul Otuoma has expressed confidence that he will win in the upcoming August 8 polls.
Speaking, Saturday, when he officially launched his campaigns at his running mate’s home in Teso South constituency, Otuoma vowed to fight corruption which he said is deeply rooted in the county.
His sentiments were echoed by his running mate Solomon Abwaku who said they would improve services in the county.
“We will also improve service delivery in the county and ensure our people get development they deserve,” said Otuoma.
The former ODM legislator further noted if elected as the governor, Busia county would undergo tremendous growth from the billions the county gets every financial year.
“If you remove operational fee and salaries, each county should get 800 million each year enough to implement projects that can uplift the life of our people,” Otuoma added.
The Funyula lawmaker decamped from ODM to vie as an independent candidate after failing to clinch the party ticket during nominations in April. He cited rigging.
He will battle it out with incumbent governor Sospeter Ojaamong’.
