Funyula MP Paul Otwoma has warned the Luhya community that their numerical strength will not count in any competitive elections should they lack unity.
Otwoma also urged all Luhya leaders to rally behind one leader for the sake of cementing their political equation in the country.
Speaking on Saturday during inauguration of Musalia Mudavadi as Luhya spokesman, Otwoma said the community was capable of controlling Kenyan politics should they speak from same script.
“As Luhya community, we have numbers but we cannot make any significant progress in national politics if we cannot embrace unity,” he said.
“Our numeral strength is instead working against us because we cannot embrace unity. This is a milestone we have made and those resisting should be avoided like a plague,” he added.
Otwoma also urged youths from the Western block of the country to register as voters and make a difference in this year’s elections.
