[Photo/Reuters]Opposition leader Raila Odinga has expressed sorrow following the death of widow to former Foreign Affairs minister Robert Ouko, Ms Christabel Ouko.Christabel died Monday evening after she was involved in a tragic road accident along Kericho-Awasi road.She was traveling back to her home in Koru after attending the swearing in ceremony of the newly elect Kisumu governor professor Anyang' Nyong'o when the incident occurred.In a statement on Tuesday, Raila said Christabel was an outstandig Kenyan.“We have known Christabel and the family of the late Robert Ouko for a long time. Like her late husband, Christabel was outstanding in her commitment to our country and her family. She played critical roles in the development of our country and rendered selfless services to her immediate community,” said Odinga.He further noted it was sad Ouko's widow passed on before knowing those who murdered his husband.“But Christabel lived and died with the pain of never knowing who was responsible for the cruel murder of her husband or finding justice for him," Raila noted.
The ODM chief added the country will deeply miss her.“While we will deeply miss her, we will forever remember her for her courage and determination against great odds. It is our hope that the support of friends and friends will provide some comfort to her family at this difficult time,” Raila added.
